Home Workout Workshops 2010-2011
We have some great home workouts with balls and bands designed to keep you in pilates shape even when you are on the road! Sign up for these in advance before they fill up by calling or emailing the studio!
1. Pilates for Runners with Ishbel! Saturday, April 10, 2010, 1pm-2pm
Enhance your running experience, whether you're a beginner or an ultra-marathoner. If you want to increase your speed, lengthen your stride, eliminate pain, or reduce your chance of injury, this home workout is for you. A PDF file with all recommended exercises will be sent to each participant.
Cost: $37 includes a green and blue flexband or $25 to take the workshop only
2. Pilates Weight Loss Boost with Nikki! May 22, 2010 1pm-2pm
Learn how to lose weight and get a lean, toned Pilates body! By fusing your traditional Pilates Mat workout with a few fun calorie boosting exercises and incremental "cardio blasts," you can make a big difference in the results you see. Nikki will teach you combine all of these elements into an innovative and powerful exercise routine that gradually increases in rhythm, pace, and intensity to help rev-up the body's fat burning capacity. Since healthy eating habits are an essential component to any successful weight loss, Nikki will include some nutritional tips that can be easily coordinated into your everyday life

3. Flexband Workout! With Cheryl! July 24, 2010 1pm-2pm
Add ease, variety and challenge to your whole body workout with flexbands, which are especially portable tools for home and travel. Learn how flexbands can simulate exercises done on the reformer, and support and expand your range of motion. Special attention will be given on how to avoid overusing the shoulders while using flexbands.
Cost: $30 includes a green and blue flexband or $25 to take the workshop only.
4. Wobble Cushion Workout! With Jean! Sept 11, 2010 1pm-2pm
Discover a new and intensive core training workout with Jean. Controlling instability, the wobble cushion disk requires activation of the stabilizing muscles of the torso, shoulders and hips. This workshop will challenge your balance and work your muscles in a variety of new ways. The cushion can easily inflate or deflate to pack in your suitcase.

5. Triad Ball Workout! With Traci! November 6, 2010 1pm-2pm
Need a change in your routine? Work out anytime and anywhere with the TRIADBALL™. It can be customized to support your comfort level and ability and its inflation tube makes set up a snap at home and on the road. This exciting new workout designed to improve muscle tone, build strength and increase flexibility, is ideal for beginners and anyone who wants to bring a fresh challenge to their traditional Pilates routine.

7. Foam Roller Workout! With Sue! March 12, 2011
Roll your way to a great home workout with Sue Brantley. The versatile Foam Roller adds a new dimension to your mat or yoga workout. Through a combination of seated, standing and lying exercises, this routine rolls strength, flexibility, balance and coordination training into one dynamic workout. You will also learn some great myofascial release techniques.

8. 30-minute workout: Mat Pilates with Transitions with Janet! May 14, 2011 1pm-2pm
This is an interactive workshop that will conclude with the 30 Minute Mat workout. Participants will receive a DVD of the workout for use at home, as well as, handouts detailing the transitions and modifications for future reference. Participants will be introduced to transitions that can be used between the Pilates Mat exercises to create a fun, fluid, precise, potentially cardiovascular workout that can be completed in 30 minutes. Come to enjoy "Playing at Pilates" in a new way or to take your Mat workouts to the next level.
