In celebration of our 10 years in business, Pacific NW Pilates is introducing three special workshop weekends in 2011! These are days to get re-inspired to exercise and take care of yourself. Each day next year will include a one-hour home workout workshop and a lecture. There will also be a free fundamentals class offered for new students. These special days are a great opportunity for you to learn a new home workout. This is also a great chance to introduce your friends to Pacific NW Pilates.

30-minute workout: Mat Pilates with Transitions with Janet – For Intermediate/Advanced, Instructors and Apprentices
Time: 10:00-11:00am
Cost: $45 includes Janet’s workshop, DVD, Handouts and attendance to the Mindful Eating lecture to follow or $35 to attend Janet’s workshop only or $15 for the Mindful Eating lecture only.Part of the “New You Sundays” Workshops Series, this workout is fast-paced, flowing, and just plain fun! Learn transitions that allow you to fluidly progress through 21 of the original Pilates mat exercises. Once we start breathing and moving, we won’t stop breathing and moving until we’re done! All those who attend the Sunday workshop will receive a DVD of the workout included in the $35 cost of the workshop. There will be three additional 30-Minute Mat with Transitions classes offered after the workshop. These classes will include the workout along with further practical instruction in how to apply the principles of sequencing, progression and fluidity to teaching Mat classes. Space is limited to 12-14 participants so get signed up soon!
Free Fundamentals Class for new students
Time: 10am-11am
Cost: FREE
New to Pilates or interested in finding out if it is right for you? The Fundamentals Class is a great way to introduce yourself to the principles of Pilates, and how to develop core control and mobility through essential level mat and reformer exercises. Because classes will focus on the very basic exercises, clients will not need to do a private class before starting. The Fundamentals Class will be taught by a fully certified STOTT PILATES instructor.
Lecture: “Mindful Eating” by Dana Sturtevant
Time: 11:15-12:15pm
Cost: Included in price of workshop or $15 to attend independently of other events. Anyone may attend.Mindfulness is deliberately paying attention, non-judgmentally, to what is present for you mentally, emotionally and physically in each moment. Mindful eating includes learning to be aware of physical hunger and satiety cues, and choosing to eat food that is both pleasing to you and nourishing to your body by using all your senses to explore, savor and taste. Dana Sturtevant, registered dietician and Kripalu yoga teacher will be teaching a practical, hands on workshop to encourage a healthy approach to eating.
