Mat Classes

Mat classes

Pilates Mat classes are the floor work version of the Pilates method. These classes take place in a group setting using your body weight as the primary source of resistance.

  • Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body.
  • Exercises work the deepest layers of muscles to stabilize and support your spine and pelvis.
  • Classes emphasize the foundational principles of STOTT PILATES while offering modifications and variations to suit each student’s individual needs.
  • Small props may be applied to add variety, valuable feedback, challenge and support.

Reformer and Equipment Classes

Pilates equipment (Reformer and Reformer with Tower) use springs and pulleys to provide variable resistance to assist and challenge the body in standing, sitting, kneeling and lying positions.

  • Classes emphasize the foundational principles of STOTT PILATES while offering modifications and variations to suit each student’s individual needs.
  • The equipment includes a rolling carriage with the springs set at different levels of resistance to challenge and train core stability and balance.
  • Exercises emphasize full-range of motion to increase flexibility while building strength.

Barre Classes

Total Barre
Barre classes are energizing and targeted workouts set to fun and motivational music. Exercises are performed holding onto a barre and incorporate mini-stability balls, ankle tubing and small hand weights to challenge strength and endurance.

  • Classes emphasize the foundational principles of STOTT PILATES, precision and control.
  • Barre classes mix elements of dance, Pilates and functional fitness. Barre class is for everyone.
  • Exercises can be modified for every person. You’ll feel safe in barre class as a beginner or with an injury.

Circuit classes are designed to take participants through a series of timed exercise stations with little or no rest between exercises.

  • Circuit classes aim to target the whole body and incorporate elements of Pilates, yoga and fitness.
  • Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body.
  • Circuit training is an excellent way to maximize time in the Pilates studio while utilizing different equipment and props.
