Leslie Braverman demonstrates side split variations using the Pilates reformer. When executed properly, these exercises work the abductor and adductor muscles. If the weight on the carriage is light, the adductors must work eccentrically to simultaneously stretch and strengthen the inner thigh muscles. All of these exercise variations are best executed with the spine and pelvis in a neutral position.
