A great big THANKS to everyone who supported our fund-raising efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness. Clients and friends banded together to raise over $2k in proceeds donated to the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Currently, over 88 cents of every dollar donated to the BCRF goes to research and awareness programs. Enjoy the video!!
Around the world, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we can’t wait to do our part. We have so many great things going on with the studio and ways for you to get involved too!
On Saturday, September 17th PNWP will host a free “Pilates for Breast Cancer” class at the Komen Expo at noon. If you are there to pick up your packet for the run, stop by and say hello and take the class with Leslie Braverman.

This annual national breast cancer awareness initiative started six years ago by SHAPE Magazine and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Pilates studios across the country host special classes in October where 100% of the proceeds are donated to breast cancer research and to date, over $800,000 has been raised.
Pacific Northwest Pilates has been a proud participant of this campaign since the beginning and now for 2011, we want to kick it up a notch and host a public class in a park, just like the nationally covered event that SHAPE holds in New York City! Sunday, October 2nd, starting at 9am in Washington Park in the Stevens Pavilion at the Arboretum.
Event will include an informative presentation on breast cancer, followed by 2 Pilates group classes all hosted by PNWP owners, Melanie & Leslie. See the full descriptions & times.
Teens who participate in pilates benefit from enhanced self confidence and self esteem while developing a strong core that compliments any other sport or physical activity.They will gain body awareness, develop focus, relieve stress, and elevate their mood. It will also help to avoid injury in other sports.
In this fun 10-week session, instructor Nina Nakagawa will teach teens teens the five basic principals of STOTT PILATES and the fundamentals of mat and reformer exercises.
“Pilates for Teens” offers the added benefit of “guided journaling” that will help gain increased awareness of the relationship with the physical self, learning how to become their own personal best! Journals will be provided.
For: teens 8th-12th grades Time: 10 week session Wednesdays, January 11- March 21 ((No class February 1) 4:30pm-5:30pm One make-up class is available: date to be announced Cost: $160 for 10 classes.
