In contrast to traditional training, Pilates does not isolate each muscle in training but rather works the entire body as a whole. Libby Vehicle

I really enjoyed reading this article from a dancer's perspective. Thank you for mentioning this on Twitter.

I started with basic Pilates about 2 years ago, and enjoy ballroom dancing as a recreational activity (not professional or competing). The first few times I did Pilates, I struggled, and wondered if I could ever do all the basic exercises. It surprised me, then, that it only took a few weeks to learn the exercises, and they became easier. Then, when I danced or hiked, I could feel this "girdle" I didn't know I had. I wasn't sore...just suddenly could feel muscles working when I was doing other activities. However, if I forget to do Pilates for a while, it takes more effort to get back into it than if I had been doing it consistently.

Anyway, I do I believe I'll be doing Pilates the rest of my life. ;-) Thanks again!

Many blessings, Nancy
